Edith Sitwell letters, 1921-1956.

The collection consists of 21 items, including: a friendly letter and postcard to Mrs. Hugh Spender, 1921-1922; letter to Mr. Ainley, 15 Oct. 1930, about her activities, with praise for Ainley's son; a series of eight letters and one telegram to I.L. Salomon, 1947-1948, thanking him for a kind review of Green Song, announcing a planned lecture tour of America with her brother Osbert, and the difficulties in arranging a reading before a Vermont poetry society he represents. Also, the Salomon series includes a letter from W. Colston Leigh, agent for the Sitwells' tour of America, 16 July 1948, citing a fee of $350.00 for a reading by the Sitwells; five letters to Miss Deutsch, 1948-1956, featuring news of her health, stating her preference to have her more recent poetry used in an anthology, and more general news of her activities; two letters to Miss Bonner, ca. 1949, concerning corrections to an interview; letter to Mr. Cornell, 27 Jan. 1951, agreeing to a proposed poetry reading, and providing information for the final preparations. Also, notes from the aforementioned interview, dated March 6, 1949, with typed questions and some written answers.
